SPRiNT: 频谱参数化方法简介

We are the Neurospeed team from McGill University, Canada (https://www.neurospeed-bailletlab.org/). In this tutorial, we’ll learn how to use the Spectral Parameterization Resolved in Time (SPRiNT) algorithm to quantify aperiodic and periodic neural signal dynamics. We will explore the basics of spectral parameterization and apply these principles to extract aperiodic dynamics from a neurophysiological recording. A more detailed description of this method can be found in the elife cover paper (https://elifesciences.org/articles/77348). Jason will introduce Brainstorm and the basics of MEG spectrum analysis and Luc will give more details on SPRiNT and its usage.

For this tutorial, you need to install Matlab and Brainstorm, download the tutorial MEG data from the Brainstorm Website.

Jason da Silva Castanheira is a PhD candidate in the Integrated Program in Neuroscience (IPN) at McGill university working with Dr. Sylvain Baillet. His research, supported by the Alexander Graham Bell scholarship awarded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), examines how individual differences in neurophysiology relate to individuals’ cognitive abilities using techniques such as brain fingerprinting and machine learning. His research interests span multiple areas of cognition and neuroscience including, attention, consciousness, neurophysiology, and methods development. His most recent work on brain fingerprinting was published in Nature Communications.

Luc Wilson is a Graduate student in the Integrated Program in Neuroscience at McGill University, working under the supervision of Dr. Sylvain Baillet. His current research uses newly developed neuroimaging analysis techniques to study dynamic features of aperiodic brain activity. Luc completed his BSc in Neuroscience at McGill University, with his Honors thesis also completed under the supervision of Dr. Sylvain Baillet. His most recent work on Spectral Parameterization was published in Elife.
